About us
LabChemicalDisposal.co.uk exists for the people who look after chemicals in schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, pathology labs, pharmacies, clinics, veterinary and dental practices, and industrial laboratories. Those people need three things that are rarely joined up: a way of getting old stock safely off site, reliable information about what is on their shelves and a stock record that keeps itself honest. We work on all three.
What we do
We arrange chemical collections. You tell us what needs to go, and we arrange collection through registered hazardous waste carriers. We handle the quote, the paperwork and the invoice, so you have one price and one contact. We do not transport, hold or treat waste ourselves, and we would not want you to think otherwise. How collection works explains what each party does.
We publish a chemical database. Our public database covers chemicals commonly held in schools and medical laboratories. It shows hazards, storage class, signs of deterioration and how each chemical is disposed of. Hazard data comes from PubChem and the ECHA C&L inventory, and each page shows its source and retrieval date. We write our own notes. Pages are guidance only, and we do not claim that a named chemist has reviewed them.
We make software. The Chemical Register is a web application for keeping one true record of a chemical store, and booking a collection from it. The software pages set out what it does.
What we think matters
Paperwork should be readable by the person who signs it. A technician handing over a crate of old chemicals should be able to see what the note says and why.
Prices should be clear before anyone commits. You get one itemised price from us, and the software plans are published.
We never publish a route that sends a chemical to the sewer. Every chemical we list is either a specialist collection or a manual enquiry.
Some things should not be priced by a website. Dried picric acid, unknown bottles, controlled drugs and radioactive sources need a person to look at them first, and we route them that way.
We will tell you what we do not have. We hold no accreditations or certifications, and we have no client list or reviews to show you yet. We would rather earn those than imply them.
How we work with carriers
Every carrier we arrange work through has a record with us that holds its carrier registration and expiry date, its ADR capability, its insurance expiry, the postcode districts it covers and the waste codes and hazard classes it accepts. We do not publish carrier names unless agreed in writing. You see one price from us. For each job, the consignment note names the carrier and the consignee at the document stage, and you should check the registration yourself on the public register. Our guide on checking a registration shows how.
Our suppliers are not described as partners, and nothing on this site should be read as an endorsement of them by any public body.

Box 4 Digital Group Ltd is a new company. We have no long history to point to, so we would ask you to judge us on what you can check for yourself: the registration on the public register, the paperwork on your own collection and whether the information here turns out to be right. If you find an error on any of our pages, please tell us and we will correct it.
Who we work with
We work with secondary schools, sixth-form and further education colleges, multi-academy trusts, universities and research labs, NHS and private hospitals, pathology and histology labs, pharmacies, clinics, veterinary and dental practices, and industrial laboratories across England, Wales and Scotland. Collections in Northern Ireland are currently handled as a manual enquiry.

No. Box 4 arranges collection through registered hazardous waste carriers and handles the quote, paperwork and invoice. We do not transport, hold or treat waste.
